Curriculum and Materials:
Instruction is offered each term on beginning, intermediate and advanced levels. Courses are given in the basic skill areas of listening, speaking, reading, and composition. Special elective courses are also offered: Practical Vocabulary and Idioms, TOEFL Preparation, Pronunciation, American Culture, English on the Internet, Basic Word Skills, Oral Presentations, and the English Verb. Instruction is supplemented with listening tapes and activities, videos, and computer lab assignments. ELC students find many opportunities to practice speaking English through the Conversation Partner program.
